Grimaldi ACL – Jacksonville and Freeport Updates

Please note and advise your drivers accordingly. ACL sent updated dates concerning Forklift RORO Vehicle deliveries for current vessel.
-Freeport Amports - The terminal will not receive Forklift as from today, Monday Sept. 25.
-Jacksonville JAX Port - Last day of Forklift receiving will now be Wednesday, Sept. 27. The terminal will not receive Forklift as from Thursday, Sept. 28.


Grimaldi ACL – Jacksonville and Freeport Updates

Grimaldi ACL – Jacksonville and Freeport Storage Updates

Per ACL, “We would like to clarify and reassure all our Customers that Grimaldi has not changed any of the procedures or policies regarding RORO storage charges that is currently in place for the USA-WAF service.  As such, and differently from what other Shipping Lines are doing, Grimaldi is still offering storage free of charge from all ports of loading as long as all cargo are booked and loaded on the first available vessel. Storage will be invoiced only If the cargo misses any sailing due to issues not caused by the liner side (i.e. paperwork not cleared, CBP hold, shipper hold, mechanical issues etc.). Grimaldi ACL – Jacksonville Amports Update

Please note and advise your drivers accordingly. Per updated ACL RORO Schedule, JAX Amports is Re-Opening Forklift receiving from Friday, Sept. 22 through the GLU0723 RORO cut off, Thursday, Sept. 28.  Please take advantage of the extended cut off. 


Grimaldi ACL – Freeport Terminal Update

Please note and advise your drivers accordingly. ACL is reopening Forklift receiving at Freeport through Thursday, September 21.  Please take advantage of the extended cut off.  


Sallaum Lines - Baltimore South Locust Terminal Update

Please note and advise your drivers accordingly. Baltimore South Locust RORO Port has reached capacity with regards to both NonRunner & Forklift space. Effective Monday, September 18th, 2023, SLP will not accept any NonRunner or Forklift deliveries until further notice. Please push all NonRunner & Forklift vehicles to the Amports Terminal.


IMPORTANT – Grimaldi ACL – Port Storage Policy Update - Effective Receive Date Oct 12, 2023

Please note Grimaldi ACL Daily Port Storage Charges:
Providence - 21 Free Days - $5 daily after, $10 daily after 60+ days
Wilmington - 15 Free Days - $5 daily after
Jacksonville - 10 Free Days- $9 daily after
Freeport - 10 Free Days- $9 daily after
Baltimore - 20 Free Days- $5 daily after
Newark - 15 Free Days- $5 daily after, $10 daily after 60+ days * Plus, units on ground after 46 days will receive a $70 additional assessment 
charge.


Grimaldi ACL – Newark Port Update GRC0523

Please note latest ACL update concerning the GRC0523 Vessel Fire.  NJ Port Authority is not lifting the ban of exporting POVs until the investigation is complete. Newark is still unable to receive new cargo and unable to load cargo that was discharged off the GRC0523. There is no confirmed timeline of when the ban will be lifted. Regarding all other cargo that was delivered but was not assigned to any vessel, we will reach out to shippers individually to see if you any interest to remove cargo from the terminal and re-deliver to another POL. We are waiting on ACL to confirm removal procedure and will inform shippers asap.


Sallaum Lines - Baltimore South Locust Port Update

Please note and advise your drivers accordingly. Sallaum Baltimore South Locust RORO terminal will be closed for receiving on Tuesday, September 12th in observance of Defenders Day. Please push all deliveries to the Amports Terminal for Tuesday, September 12th.


Sallaum Lines - Baltimore South Locust Terminal Update

Baltimore South Locust RORO Terminal has reached capacity with regards to Forklift units.  Effective Monday, September 11th, 2023 - South Locust Terminal will not accept any Forklift deliveries until further notice.  Please push all Forklift RORO Vehicles to the Baltimore Amports Terminal.


Sallaum Lines - Freeport Terminal Update

Please note and advise your drivers accordingly. Please be advised that the Freeport Terminal is approaching capacity with regards to Non-Running RORO vehicles. Effective Monday, September 11th, 2023 - Freeport will not accept any Non-Running deliveries until further notice.


Grimaldi ACL - September Holiday Port Update

Please note and advise your drivers accordingly.  Per ACL Port Update, please note Terminal Closings for Tuesday, September 12th, Defender's Day:

Jacksonville Terminal Update - Hurricane Idalia

Please note and advise your drivers accordingly. The Jacksonville RORO Ports (both Sallaum Line and Grimaldi ACL) have re-opened for receiving as of today, Thursday, August 31.

Due to Hurricane Idalia's forecasted path through Florida, the Jacksonville RORO Ports (Both Sallaum Line and Grimaldi ACL) will be CLOSED for receiving as of TODAY (Tuesday, August 29) at 3pm and CLOSED tomorrow Wednesday, August 30thWe will provide updates as soon as they become available.

Grimaldi ACL Vessel - Grande Costa D'Avorio GRC0523 Vessel Update

Ghanem is pleased to announce Grimaldi ACL has posted the confirmed list of the “sound condition” cargo.  We have emailed our individual shippers per VIN with the good news.  For questions, please contact our office.  Concerning sound cargo, per ACL, “We will proceed with shipping your cargo unless otherwise advised by you.”


Grimaldi ACL - Freeport Amports Update

Please note and advise your drivers accordingly.  The ACL Freeport RORO Terminal has reached capacity in regards to forklift cargo as of Monday 8/14.  The terminal will not be receiving forklifts as from Tuesday 8/15.


Grimaldi ACL – Providence Terminal Update

Please be advised and advise your drivers accordingly. The ACL Providence RORO Port will be closed for receiving vehicles Monday, August 14, for State holiday, Victory Day. 


Sallaum Line - Philadelphia Terminal Update

Please note and advise your drivers accordingly. Sallaum Philadelphia Terminal will close for receiving on Friday, August 11th due to loading operations. Terminal will reopen Monday, August 14th. 


Sallaum Lines - Philadelphia Terminal Update

Please note and advise your drivers accordingly. The Sallaum Philadelphia RORO Port will be Closed for receiving on Monday, August 14th due to loading operations. Terminal will reopen Tuesday, August 15th, 2023. 


Grimaldi ACL – Jacksonville Amports Update

Please note and advise your drivers accordingly. ACL Jacksonville Amports RORO Terminal will be closed for receiving Forklift units starting Monday, August 14. Last day of receiving is end of day Friday, August 11.


Grimaldi ACL Vessel - Grande Costa D'Avorio GRC0523 Vessel Update

Per ACL, “Thank you for your patience, our contracted partner, AVI, finally completed the survey on all cargo on board the GCG0523. We are now in the position to confirm cargoes in “sound condition” and cargoes that is considered “total loss”.  For total loss cargo, claim will have to be placed towards our insurance as per our previous message sent on 08/03/2023. For cargo in sound condition, we will shortly provide you a link where you can verify the status of your cargo which, according to AVI, has not been touched at all by the fire. We are sending messages to individual customers with a list of burned cargo to be claimed. Sound cargoes, except the units selected by salvors at City Security are planned to be reloaded on the very first available FAPS vessel, unless shippers instruct differently. The units, Salvors are seeking security for, can only be released for loading after the lien is removed.”


Sallaum Line – Norad Davisville Port Update

Please note and advise your drivers accordingly.  Davisville Norad RORO Terminal will be closed for receiving on Monday, August 14th in observance of Victory Day. The Terminal will re-open normal business hours on Tuesday, August 15th.


Grimaldi ACL Vessel - Grande Costa D'Avorio GRC0523 Vessel Update

Please see update below from Grimaldi: “Cargo to be shipped on GRANDE COSTA D’AVORIO, is now discharged at Newark.  Following initial investigations by the relevant Authorities all cargo has now been discharged and is being stored within the Newark locality. We are advised by Owner and salvor interests on a preliminary basis that the status of cargo is as follows, noting that further surveys and inspections are to follow:
1. The cargo on decks 1-5 has not been affected by the fire and we are told is in the same condition in which it was presented for loading.
2. All of the cargo which was loaded on decks 6 -12 is burnt out and can only be scrapped which Owners are attending to do.
Claims against Grimaldi for losses arising from the total losses of cargo will be considered upon presentation of Bill of Lading (where applicable), proof of price paid for cargo and proof of payment for freight. 


Sallaum Line - Philadelphia Terminal Update

Please note and advise your drivers accordingly.  Philadelphia RORO Auto Terminal has reached Non-Runner capacity and will not accept Non-Runners effective 8/3/2023. Please direct all Non-Runner cargo to Baltimore and Davisville terminals until reopening following the loading of Glovis Sirius.


Grimaldi ACL Vessel - Grande Costa D'Avorio GRC0523 Vessel Update

Please update below received from Grimaldi-ACL July 31, 2023: “We are pleased to announce that US Coast Guard has given the green light to discharge the Roro cargo and that Operations are going very well. All sound cargo is already discharged and on Pier. The discharge and disposal of the burnt cargo is still on going, and hopefully, to be completed by tomorrow. The surveyors are already working on sound cargo, and we believe that by end of the week we will have full details of the cargo to be considered as Total Loss. Once this is established, we will revert on how to proceed with filing a claim. On Friday 7/28, all containers were discharged at Red Hook / Brooklyn.  We will revert with further details asap and want to thank you again for your patience and understanding.”

Sallaum Line - Port Newark Update

Please note and advise your drivers accordingly.  Port Authority officials have notified all shipping lines that all POV (RORO) delivery and loading operations are suspended for the next 30 days.  Please reroute all scheduled Newark cargo to Davisville and/or Baltimore until Newark operations resume.  We will send updates as we receive them.


Grimaldi ACL Vessel - Grande Costa D'Avorio GRC0523 Vessel Update

Per Grimaldi ACL, on Sunday, July 23, US Coast Guard have approved the discharge operation of the Containers on board the vessel. Operation continues today, and the balance should be discharged by the end of the day.  As of today, approval for the discharge of the Roro cargo is still under review by US Coast Guard, but we remain confident that it will be approved shortly.

Grimaldi ACL Vessel - Grande Costa D'Avorio GRC0523 Vessel Update

Please see update received from the New Jersey Port. “The cause of the fatal ship fire in the Port of New York and New Jersey on July 5, 2023 is still under investigation by the US Coast Guard and other regulatory bodies. Until the investigation is completed, The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (Port Authority) is temporarily suspending the loading of all (non-containerized) previously owned vehicles (POVs) onto either Roll On Roll Off (RoRo) or combined container and RoRo (ConRo) vessels at all Port Authority marine terminal facilities. In view of the temporary suspension, the Port Authority strongly discourages receipt of additional POVs at the marine terminals until further notice to keep yard space available for other vehicles and cargo.”

Sallaum Line – Port Newark Vessel Fire Update

Due to a Port Authority temporary suspension of export RORO vessel operations, Sallaum Line - New Jersey Red Hook Terminal RORO Receiving will Close as of end of business today. The receiving process will resume once the suspension is lifted.

Grimaldi ACL Vessel - Grande Costa D'Avorio GRC0523 Vessel Update

Please see update received from Grimaldi-ACL. “We would like to give you an update on the situation: The fire has been declared extinguished last week 11th July 2023 and Authority’s investigations are ongoing at this time. We are still discussing with all concerned on when possible to start discharging operations and whilst a date remains to be fixed, we are confident that these will be able to commence later this week following Authority approval. Only once discharge is completed will we be in a position to begin the accurate assessment of any and all damages. We will revert with further updates later this week and in the meantime thank you for your ongoing patience.”

Please be advised, ACL Jacksonville Amports RORO Port is reaching Forklift capacity. JAX will shut down Forklift Vehicle receiving as from Monday, July 24th. Last day to deliver Forklifts is Friday, July 21st. Please advise your drivers accordingly.

Grimaldi ACL - Hyundai and Kia Recall Fire Risk Units

This is a reminder of the April 4, 2023 carrier announcement.  Grimaldi will no longer accept below Hyundai Kia models for RORO & Containers for risk of fire as per Hyundai Kia recall:
Hyundai Santa Cruz model years 2022-2023 (Recall #2023-147)
Hyundai Santa Fe model years 2019-2023 (Recall # 2023-147)
Santa Fe Hybrid model years 2021-2023 (Recall #2023-147)
Santa Fe Plug In Hybrid model years 2022-2023 (Recall #2023-147)
Kia Carnival model years 2022-2023 (Recall # 2023-149)
Grimaldi does not accept any hybrid, plug in hybrid units or gas combustion model years.

 


Grimaldi ACL Vessel - Grande Costa D'Avorio GRC0523 Vessel Update

Please update below received from Grimaldi-ACL.: “Grimaldi Deep Sea (a Grimaldi Group company), operator of the vessel Grande Costa d’Avorio, reports that the ship suffered a fire on July 5thapproximately 9:30 pm (EST) while at berth at the Port of Newark, New Jersey. The vessel was completing the loading operations of various rolling units (cars, vans, trucks) when the fire started at Deck 10 which was attended by local stevedores and crew members. The crew of the vessel immediately activated the on-board fire suppression procedures while the local firefighting service were alerted, and their prompt response played a crucial role in containing and bringing the fire under control. Sadly, during the firefighting operations, Grimaldi Deep Sea were informed that two fire fighters lost their lives. All Company’s thoughts, prayers and sympathies are with their families and team currently. Grimaldi Deep Sea wishes to thank and acknowledge the fast and professional response of the firefighting teams to this incident. The fire is expected to be confirmed full extinguished shortly, with access controlled to the vessel by the Authorities, will commence their inspections and investigations. At this time the damage to cargo is expected to be limited to the upper decks as result to controlling the spread of the fire. Grimaldi Deep Sea, will seek at the earliest opportunity to identify the damaged cargo, this will occur after the investigation by the Authorities. Will keep you duly updated on next steps over next days.”

Grimaldi ACL - Port Newark Update

As you may have heard through media sources, there has been a Grimaldi vessel fire in Port Newark. At this time we do not know which vehicles were affected by this fire on vessel. All we know is vessel loaded Baltimore cargo and was in the process of loading Newark cargo. We will keep our affected customers updated with specifics once we have more information. We recommend following local media for news updates until we have a more formal announcement.
